Drugstore Beauty Haul!

Hello there my lovelies, long time no post right? Well I’m back and today I have a lovely haul for you all because these are my favourite posts to write and fave videos to watch on YouTube! I popped into Superdrug last week and picked up almost a full face of new products that I haven’t tried before! However my heart sunk when I got to the till thinking I don’t spent £50 and the cashier said £90. But at least if got plenty to blog about!!

First up I’ll do all the bits from Makeup Revolution because they’re the majority of this haul. I’ve been such a big fan of their products for so long now, at least 3 years! It’s so nice to watch them improve and grow, I have enough of their products to have my own pop up shop!

So I picked up the Revolution Pro full cover camouflage foundation in the shade F2, I’ve been keen to try this for a while now. I usually use the L’Oreal true match foundation but I found it quite drying and it tends to oxidise to a shade that’s not really my colour. I also picked up the Revolution Pro pressed powder, again I’ve been dying to try it out, I have a loose setting powder at the moment but I feel like the pressed powders are more travel friendly and convenient. Next i have the Revolution Pro Lip scrub, I love lip scrubs and I’m keen to see how this one works! I picked up the Makeup Revolution Ultra Pro HD Powder Contour kit, I was looking to get one because I’ve been using the Nip&Fab one but I find the colours a little to warm for my pale face. I got the Revolution Pro Illuminate which is a stunning highlight, I used it today and I’m in love!! I then picked up The Revolution Pro lipstick collection in The Matte Noire collection. I have to say I swatched these after I got home and the formula was not what I was hoping , which is unusual because their single lipsticks and liquid lipsticks are actually really good! I picked up the Revolution Pro Hydrating Primer and you guys, I was SO happy to see this because I have such dry skin and most primers don’t really tend to do anything and my foundation sticks to my dry patches but I’m really hoping this improves that! The last two things from Makeup Rev. Are the brow pomade in Blonde, and the duo brow definer because ive been trying to find different ways of doing my brows as I was getting annoyed with my brow powder. So that was the Makeup Rev. side of things now onto the rest.

I then picked up a new bronzer and blush from MUA which I can’t wait to try the next time I do my full face!

Skincare and nails

I also decided I needed to expand my skincare range as I don’t tend to look after my face too much after taking makeup off etc. I found some bits that I’m praying do my skin some good. So I found these cleansing pads from the Vitamin C range in Superdrug and they’re actually really good! They smell amazing and feel really refreshing on the eyes and they’re much better for you skin than baby wipes. I recommend!! Then I discovered the Calm Skin range and HAD to try some bits so I picked up the Soothing Facial Cleanser, Refreshing Mist and the 2 in 1 serum and moisturiser. I haven’t tried them yet but I will be soon so if you’d like a review then comment below! Of course I had to pick up some sheet masks, I got the Garnier Moisture bomb mask and the Moisture Bomb Eye sheet mask which looks like a superhero’s mask (lowkey the reason I picked it up). I’ve tried the full face sheet mask before so I know it’s really good already but I’m hoping the eye one does wonders as most of my dry patches are on and around my eyes. And finally I picked up and new Barry M nail varnish in the shade “Black Cherry” (I think) because i felt like I needed a new colour.

So that’s my Superdrug haul I’ll be purchasing some bits on Friday so if you’d like another haul then let me know! If you’d like any reviews, tips or swatches for any of the products above then please feel free to comment below! I’d love to hear from you😌

Sincerely, S x

Big Collective Haul! Superdrug&Primarko

Hello everybody! Hope you’re all well. So I’ve been on a couple of shopping trips and I’ve been gathering items and products up now so I decided to do a sort of collective haul. The majority is actually makeup but there’s a couple other bits from primark which aren’t that I’ll include at the end.

Let’s get started! So first up I was SO excited when I saw that E.l.f was actually in the Superdrug store because for some reason I thought it was only on the website, not sure why but I really wanted to try some of their products. I picked up the primer in the moisturising version (£7.50), the Lip Exfoliator in ‘Sweet Cherry’ (£4.50) (it’s smells amazing!), I also got the brow cream in ‘medium brown’ (£5.00) and the cream eyeliner in black (£4.50). I can’t wait to test these products out and if you want a review post on any of these products please let me know in the comments☺️

Next I noticed that Nip and Fab had a half price sale on and I’ve been really wanting to try their products but the prices always threw me off. Whilst they had the sale on I decided to pick up the powder contour palette in Light (£7.50, usually £15) Again, if you want a post of reviewing this then let me know!

d19dcd03-e2cf-465f-a582-9a24ae726c77

I picked up a back up of the MUA kohl eyeliner pencil in black because it’s literally £1 and so pigmented, it’s something I use daily so having a back up comes in handy. I also picked up the new Prism Loose Powder Highlighter in ‘Oceanic Wonder’ and I swear when I opened it and some of it like puffed up it was SO pretty like a unicorn sneeze. Weird description, I know, but that’s the only way I can explain it.

I don’t really wear foundation but I thought I’d invest in one that quite a few people have spoken about, I picked up the L’Oréal True match foundation in 1.N Ivory because I have quite pale skin but natural undertones, I tried it today and it’s actually a really good match, it doesn’t feel dry on my skin which it good because I have dry skin anyways so I didn’t want anything too matte else all the patches show up. I really like this foundation, it’s not heavy either it’s very lightweight doesn’t feel cakey at all, I love it.

I am a sucker for the products and things they put by the checkouts and when I saw three baskets full of Models Own products for just £1.12 each (I know right?!) I had to have a look and pick some bits up! I mean, at that price it doesn’t even matter if they turn out to be a bit rubbish. I picked up the Tea Tree Healer Concealer in the shade 02 which is fairly light but not too light. I picked up a ‘Lix’ which is a Liquid matte Lipstick, in the shade ‘Raspberry Mojito’ which is quite a nice purple, a ‘Luxestick’ matte lipstick in the shade ‘Ciao’ which is a lovely pinky/red shade and finally a Sculpt and Glow highlighter stick in the shade Incandescent 03. It’s a purple toned highlighter but not so purple that, that’s all you see. I’m really happy with these little bargains and can’t wait to try them out to see if they’re actually really good or if they’re worth the price.

This post is much longer than I thought it was going to be and part of me wishes I did YouTube vids so that you guys could listen rather than having to read all of these but I just don’t have the confidence for that even though I’ve wanted to start a channel for SO long now.

Anyways the next brand I went to was Freedom makeup. Freedom is by the same company as Makeup Revolution called Tam Beauty and both brands are SO good and super affordable. I think I own enough Makeup Revolution to own a pop up shop but that’s besides the point! I picked up one of their empty palettes (£3) because they were also doing half price on some items so I grabbed a load of the eyeshadow, contour and highlight pans to go with it. I got 1 contour pan in shade number 2 which is a cool toned contour shade perfect for paler people like me. I got a pack of 3 highlight pans in the shades ‘Side Chick’, ‘Oh Boy’ and ‘Trust Issues’ (LOVE the names btw) they’re the more golden toned highlighters, the other pack was more pink toned. I also picked up a pack of 5 eyeshadow pans in the shades ‘Delicious’, ‘Sugar Rush’, ‘Icing’, ‘Brown Sugar’ and ‘So sweet’. This pack was quite a neutral set with two pale shades for setting your primer then three browns for transitions and darkening the crease for a natural look. There were singles eyeshadow pans too so I picked up two in the shade 9 (matte) and shade 8 (shimmer). I needed some new brow products so I picked up their duo brow powder in medium brown, usually I would’ve picked up the shade Taupe but I think they’ve discontinued that shade so I mix the two shades in this one instead.

You can never have too many brushes right? So I picked up the Real Techniques luxury edition Ultimate eyes brush set and honestly I couldn’t believe it was only £7.49!! It comes with 5 brushes in total, including 2 exclusives brushes which are the essential crease brush and the eye liner brush, and also exclusive to this set is the mirror to go case which is going to come in handy when I go away in a few weeks. But can you believe the whole set was only £7.49?! I can’t!! My boyfriend also bought me the Powder Brush and the Sponge from the Brush Crush collection but I’m not allowed them until Valentine’s Day because they’re gifts😬 but I’m so excited to use them😍.df879197-11fb-4c9c-90c8-cdb56b4ea6e5

That’s the Superdrug part over and done with FINALLY, now a few bits I got from primark. First of all I picked up a oversized makeup bag so I can put all my beauty bits in one place when I go away, I love the pattern and the colours of it and this was just £5. I also picked up a plastic container for my cotton pads I used for makeup removing, I was honestly to excited when I saw it (sad I know) because I was tired of having a massive pack of cotton pads lying around and now they’re tidy and look nice on my vanity. Then I picked up three lip products because I was curious about the quality of Primark makeup and some of it was on sale so I just grabbed a few to try out. I picked up a Satin finish liquid lipstick (£1) in the shade ‘Selfie’ which is a cool toned purple shade, I then picked up a metallic liquid lipstick lip kit (£1) in the shade ‘Dynamite’, a deep purply red shade, and a Matte liquid lipstick (£3) in the shade ‘Flutter’, a cool toned nude pink. And finally I picked up some fluffy socks because when I’m at home I always have cold feet and these are my go to so I always pick some up as they’re so affordable.

So that’s all for this post, I hope you guys enjoy reading it. Let me know in the comments if you want swatches or reviews of anything in the post!

Sincerely, S x

Marc Jacobs Beauty X John Lewis Un-boxing and Review

Hey guys! Hope you’re all doing well and having a good start to the year. This post is very exciting to me because its a review on the Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner Matte Gel Eyeliners. I was SO excited when i found out i was going to be receiving these in the post it was like Christmas all over again!

Marc Jacobs Highliners retail and £20 each but honestly i think they’re so worth it. There’s 12 shades all together, all amazing looking shades. I received the colours ‘Earthquake’ and ‘Pink of Me’ and both are so pigmented, Earthquake is slightly more pigmented as you can expect from the darker of the shades but both are still very pigmented. I am honestly in LOVE with these eyeliners, the formula is so creamy, they just glide on and they’re so long wearing once they set. You could literally cry all day and walk through a rainstorm and they wouldn’t budge and add such a nice pop off colour to your looks.

The only downside to these is that they’re twist up pencils so you cant really sharpen them, meaning that it’s harder to produce more precise looks like winged eyeliner when the tip becomes less pointed. Other than that pointer, these guys are flawless in my eyes and i am so so grateful and happy i got to try them out.

*Disclosure, I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes*

Hope you guys enjoyed this post and I’ll be back again soon!

Collective Superdrug Haul!

Hello my lovelies! Over the past few weeks i have been accumulating quite a bit of makeup products so i thought i’d throw them in together for a haul for you!

Everything in this haul has been purchased by me from superdrug, it is mainly MakeUp Revolution products but there are some MUA and other products too. Let’s get started!

Processed with VSCO

I’ll start with the non makeup revolution products first, I picked up the MUA ‘Undress me too’ eye shadow palette, I’ve swatched a couple of these and I am so happy with how pigmented they are and the formula is lovely. I honestly can’t wait to see what looks i can create with the golden shades. Also from MUA i got one of there single eye shadows, i absolutely love this colour and again it’s so so pigmented.

The final things i got from the MUA section were a black pencil eye liner and a glitter eye liner pencil, these were only £1 each and i use eyeliners everyday so i thought i might as well pick one up. I also find these ones more useful as they have a sharpener in the lid, i always lose my actual sharpener so its nice to have one there all the time.0724bb1b-69c2-4d35-8cf1-26085f10c426.jpg

The next two things are a pink toned Highlighter by Freedom Makeup and Candy Blush by w7. Both of these products are pretty good quality for the price of them, i love the way the highlighter looks with the pink tones in it, it really adds a great finish to a look.

Now for the big one, Makeup Revolution products from. Makeup revolution is typically my go to superdrug brand i have sooo many of their products and i love all of them. So lets get started!

The first Make up revolution product is their Lip Lava in the shade Tremor (i believe) , i wanted to buy one to try out the formula as i’m yet to find a lip product that i love. I think this product is their take on the too faced melted lipsticks because they look quite similar and MR also have a molten chocolate collection which i’m presuming is their take on the too faced melted chocolate range. I actually really like this product, though the shade doesn’t look right on me but the formula is pretty good for the price and overall i was really happy with it. I’m still trying to find a lip product that works well for me and a shade to suit me…what’re your favourite go to matte lipsticks/liquid lipsticks? I’d love for you to let me know!

Now for the big one, i purchased the Makeup Revolution 12 Days of Christmas box and my god it’s amazing! For £35 to get £75 worth of stuff you can’t really go wrong can you? Here’s what comes in the box…

First thing i pulled out it the Fixing spray, i’m actually really happy this was in there because i’ve never used a fixing spray before as i don’t tend to wear that much makeup on my face but i’m looking forward to see how well this works!

The box also comes with a Aqua Priming spray, which again i was really pleased to have as i love using primers and the effect they have on looks..hopefully it does it the trick! Speaking of primers, you also get the focus and fix eye primer. This one i’ve actually used before because i got it in a gift set they did last year so i already know its really good and i’m super glad to get a new one because mines running low. Plus the packaging though!

Now onto the eye products, you get 3 eye palettes (two eyeshadow ones and an eyebrow palette). I have to say when I purchased a gift set last year, the quality of the palette was quite disappointing but these two are amazing! I don’t know if they have changed their formula or anything but the colours are way more pigmented and actually come out the colour they should be. Both palettes have their share of cool and warm tones and have some autumnal colours too which i absolutely love. Below is a few swatches of two colours from each palette using the tool they come with. If you would like a swatches or maybe a look i could create please just comment below i would be happy to do so!

I’m really excited to try out the brow palette too! I’m not a makeup expert and i dont really do my brows like most people do but im really excited to try it out! So in this palette you get four eyebrow powders, two creams, a wax, a cream highlighter and two powder highlights. Honestly everything you need for your brows is in this palette!

Face products, and there’s plenty! So lets stay with blush and highlight. In this box you get a powder blush palette and honestly it’s stunning and the colours are definitely very pigmented! You also get a cream highlight palette and seriously guys, 8 didfferent highlighters, there’s no reason for you to not look like a pretty little glazed donut!

Finally for the contouring, okay so you get a ultra contour stick and a ultra highlight stick, i haven’t tried these out yet and i’m not very good at the whole contouring thing but i can try so i can give you my opinion! Both are double ended but on the contour you get one dark contouring shade and one highlighting shade. (sorry about the pictures! need to work out a good background and decent lighting!)

And the final item are lip products! You get three nudes shades of lip glosses, when i swatched them on my hand the colours were gorgeous but obviously it’s lipgloss and so when you apply it to your lips, the colour tends to be more sheer, but they still seem to be amazing!

I’m sorry for such a dragging post, but this is my collective superdrug haul! If you have any questions about anything featured on here then please don’t be afraid to ask in the comments! Hope you enjoy the read 😀

P.s I’m really sorry for the shocking quality of the photos I am trying to work out was i can use as a better background and get better lighting!

Also i’ll be doing a giveaway soon so keep an eye out for it!

If you’d like to purchase the 12 days of Christmas box by Makeup Revolution you can do so here.

Sincerely, S x

GlossyBox Unboxing! November 2016

Hey there my lovelies!

Today’s post is an un-boxing of my first ever Glossybox! I was very excited to receive it, i love a good surprise especially when its beauty related! For those of you who don’t know what glossybox is, it’s a subscription box that is £10 per month plus p&p. You can sign up for a monthly plan, a 3 month plan, 6 month plan or a 12 month plan. Which every subscription you chose, you’ll receive a box each month with 5 health and beauty items that have a total value that’s more than the cost of the box.

What did i get in my box?

2016-11-21 12.27.24 1.jpg

First thing i saw were some ‘Look so natural’ lashes by the brand Kiss, these retail at £4.95 and, for those who wear them, would be a great treat to receive in the box. I, however, probably won’t be wearing them and will likely be giving them away in a giveaway at some point!

Processed with VSCO

The next thing i pulled out was a trio pack of Quattro for women raspberry rain disposable razors. These retail at £5.69 for 3. They have 4 blades and a pivoting head to make shaving easier, if i’m honest i was actually really happy to see these as funny as it sounds. Every girl needs some decent razors right?

Processed with VSCO

Next is an eye shadow pencil by De Bruyere Beaute, in the shade Bubble 07 (what a great name?!) It’s a khaki grey shade, super pigmented and shiny with a creamy formula. This product retails at 15 euros, which is about £12.73. I can’t wait to create a look with this.

Processed with VSCO

Fourth item in the box is a Tapered blending brush by Ruby professional, retailing at 8 euros which is £6.80 roughly, this is a super affordable brush and well…you can’t have too many brushes can you? From touch this feel like a really good quality brush, its soft but firm which is good for blending. You could also use this brush for nose contouring, it’ll definitely come in handy.

Finally, the last item was the most expensive one and i’m quite excited to try out and review. It’s a Bio Cellulose facial treatment mask by 111skin, is retails at £20 so to get this in my box was really exciting. From what i can gather its a sheet that you put on you face that hydrates and locks in moisture to your skin. I can’ wait to try this one out!

Processed with VSCO

So that’s what i got from my November box, considering it was my first one i’m very pleased with everything i got and will most likely be continuing the subscription. If you’d like to subscribe simply go here. You can unsubscribe at any point!

Heres what the card in my box said about next months…

December Sneakpeek: Next month, our gift to you is the chance to pick your own box. Our beauty elves have been busy creating two seasonal makeup looks for you to choose from and both are as chic as each other. Keep an eye on your inbox for more details.

Hope you liked the post!

Until next time,

Product Review! Make Up Revolution- One eye product, One lip product!

Hello my lovelies! Hope you’re all doing well. Today i have a product review for you, of one of my favourite drugstore brands- Makeup Revolution! I thought that instead of just doing one product i thought i would do one eye product and one lip product from the brand.

Okay so first i’ll start with the eye product, i got this palette with a set a few months back but only recently tried using it, I don’t think it has an official name but it’s basically i mixed of neutral colours, dark colours and then a pink and blue too. If I’m honest, i was a little disappointed with the pigmentation of the colours because I own other Makeup Revolution palettes like the Flawless palette and i absolutely love it, it’s my go to palette. This one on the other hand you really have to build up on the lighter colours because they come out quite sheer, the darker colours on the other hand as you can see from the watches below, they come out so much darker than they look. Obviously the black is heavy and dark like it should be but the greens and purple are too dark. I expectd the green to come out like a nice leaf green like it looks in the tray but it came out a dark mossy green, and the purple came out almost black when it looks a lot lighter.

I did like the brown/neutrals at the end, you can make some nice everyday looks with them and they are easier to work with than the others. Overall i definitely think that Makeup Revolutions Ultra eye shadow palettes are their best ones by far, i own the Flawless Palette but they also have others- Mermaid Forever, Affirmation, Flawless matte, Flawless 2 and much more!

Secondly I have a Makeup Revolution Salvation Velvet Lip liquid matte lipstick in Vamp, i really love this colour it’s a lovely dark purple shade, but not so dark that it looks black. I personally don’t wear it because i felt like it didn’t look right on my lips but it is definitely worth the buy if you have the right lips and skin tone for it. As for the matte finish, i’d definitely say it does, once its dry it doesn’t feel sticky, it doesn’t smudge and it’s really hard to get off so it must be working right? It has the traditional doe foot applicator so it’s easy to apply. The only thing i would say is that for me it took a couple of strokes because it was a little streaky but other than that i would highly recommend! 100% affordable too!

So these are my thoughts on a couple of Makeup Revolutions products, overall i think that they are an amazing beauty range at such affordable rates and i frequently go back to their stall in superdrug. If you’d like to take a look at their products you can either go to Tam Beauty which is the company that hosts make up revolution and freedom makeup, or you can look on the superdrug website or in your local store!

Thank you for reading, hope you’ve had a lovely day!

Sincerely, S x

Ebay finds!

Hello everybody!

I haven’t done a beauty post for a while so i thought i’d do one today and since i purchase two items recently i thought it would be the perfect chance to do a post.

I’ve seen a lot of ebay find videos on youtube and they were quite popular, hopefully you guys enjoy my blog post! I purchased an eye shadow palette and four eye make up brushes, both of the products i am very pleased with. Anyways let’s get talking about them!

Okay, so the first item was this amazing 120 colour eye shadow palette. Now, unfortunately the postman did not read the fragile sign on the parcel and literally chucked the parcel through the letter box making two colours smash 😦 but i fixed them! I got the more neutral toned palette but you can get another, very vibrant version full of all the colours in the rainbow if you wish! This one was only £5.00 which i thought was amazing for the amount of colours you get, the quality is amazing too! All the colours are very pigmented and there’s both matte and shimmery colours! I’m really looking forward to see what looks i can create with this one!

image2.JPG

The other item i got was these beautiful rose gold eye brushes, with white and pink hair. I am in love with these brushes, i love rose gold things and these brushes are just so pretty! And for the cheap price of £1.58 too! i was amazed! They feel good quality too, they’re soft but not too soft, the small one are a bit tougher which is exactly how you’d expect them to be. I really can’t wait to use these to create some pretty eye looks.

image1.JPG

Hope you guys enjoyed my post, if you want the links comment below and i will send them too you and if you know of any good ebay bargains on make up then feel free to comment the links to me! I’m looking for a set of matte liquid lipsticks next!

Sincerely, S x
